Jackson Street Gallery-Historic Downtown Millersburg

I am quickly winding down my vacation days and as a result am feverishly trying to squeeze in every festival, parade, yard sale and favorite all around shopping experience I can muster. I just posted about the awesome Summer Market I attended in Avon Lake this weekend and today I want to take you on a journey to Historic Downtown Millersburg Ohio. You  can easily spend an entire day shopping in stores specializing in antiques, vintage upcyled furniture, jewelry, and a shop that will knock your socks off (or flip flops depending on the season)  called Jackson Street Gallery.

The manager and buyer is Tracy and let me tell you- she has some serious retail swagger going on in this store. She was originally a retail stylist from Chicago but located to rural Ohio when she got married. She has been employed at some wonderful stores in Northeast Ohio . She started manging this shop about 12 years ago. The store has two floors of furniture and has flooring, accessories gifts and art.  I want to take you on a photo journey looking at some of the cool items she has in the store.

These bells are not only beautiful but have a great deep resonating tone to them when rung

The one thing I want to point out is even though this post featured Jackson Street Gallery they have wonderful antiques shops in Millersburg. We stopped at two of them that were open ( we were there on a Monday so a few were closed) and purchased some fun things. The prices are great.  We went to the Pioneer Loft and Starlight Antiques. Pioneer Loft had some cute upcycled furniture and vintage treasures and Starlight had some beautiful typewriter jewelry and cool stuff toward the back. I bought a couple of enamel flower pins, cute vintage bottle labels, and a perfume bottle.

Summer Market- Avon Lake, Ohio

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend-and received some much needed rain. On Friday and Saturday the last weekend in July Avon Lake,Ohio sponsors  the Summer Market.
There are 55 vendors, great food, raffle, and music throughout the two day event. http://www.thesummermarket.com/

Overall, it is vintage paradise! We went on Saturday and unfortunately some vendors had some rain damage from Friday's storms. Saturday everyone struggled with the wind but nevertheless it was well worth it! The Summer Market is very well organized with vintage picture frame chalkboards denoting each vendor.

One of the first vendors I visited was Vintage Novella. She had beautiful displays and some very fun items for sale.
You can visit her at her blog  http:// VINTAGENOVELLA.BLOGSPOT.COM

Another creative space was Vintage Songbird which displayed some cool upcycled furniture and awesome crowns hanging from an old metal bottle rack.

One of the most ingenious was Beth who used a converted retro trailer as her "shop". Visitors were swarming around her camper  buying very creative jewelry. She can be reached at www.justthataddedtouch.com

 or facebook https://www.facebook.com/pages/Small-Town-Girls/130768723628672

And the last thing I wanted to show you were some favorite button bracelets.

Even though the weather was a bit unpredictable the show was well worth the drive. These vendors put their heart and soul into their business and  the results were incredible.

 Thanks for stopping by today!

Tomorrow I will post about Antiques In the Alley Festival in Millersburg that will be held this weekend.

Creating Country Gardens With Rustic Charm

The third and final post from Teri's barn sale include photos depicting rustic garden elements that add that little bit of vintage charm to a country landscape. Teri uses hosta, day lilies, cone flowers, and other low maintenance perennials around the barn and out buildings to create a variety of interesting foliage and pops of color throughout the summer season. The plants mixed with rustic benches, a bike, iron chairs, bird houses, clay pots and galvanized containers complete the informal gardens. Lets take a look at how all the different textures comes together to make a lovely garden setting.

If you haven't already, please take a look at my other two posts about this barn sale

One more hearty thank-you to Teri for allowing me to photograph her awesome property and barn sale.
